Cyber essentials accreditation renewed

Acuity have once again become certified by Cyber Essentials, since our initial application for this important accreditation in 2016.

Cyber Essentials is a cyber security standard scheme backed by the UK Government, that organisations can be assessed and certified against to aid protection against cyber-attacks. To achieve this certification Acuity were assessed on 5 technical controls. These were:

  • Boundary firewalls and Internet gateways – Preventing unauthorised access.
  • Secure configuration – Ensuring the system is set up securely.
  • User access control – Ensuring access to all files and applications is only available to the relevant people.
  • Malware protection – Ensuring the right software is in place e.g. anti-virus.
  • Patch management – Ensuring all software versions are maintained and updated as they are released.

Working through these controls ensures that Acuity infrastructures and processes are as secure as possible. Whilst the scheme cannot guarantee full protection from all cyber-attacks, it does protect against most common online threats and can provide our clients with the knowledge that our systems are as safe and secure as possible.
