NHS research shows that 40% of pension scheme members rate their understanding of their pension benefit as poor or very poor.As part of our contract to lead the development of a communications and engagement strategy to engage with 2.8 million NHS Pension Scheme members, we were tasked with seizing opportunities to create an evidence base for wider change within NHS Pensions communications.
In 2020, the Government announced a Coronavirus Life Assurance Scheme for frontline health service and social care staff. It was designed to recognise the heightened risk faced by those delivering vital care. The Department for Health and Social Care and the NHS Business Services Authority sought support to communicate sensitive messages about the scheme effectively and with empathy to employers and bereaved families.
Following a successful challenge against the application of transitional protection applied during the implementation of the 2015 public service pension reforms, the Cabinet Office, were required to establish a programme to rectify any resulting discrimination suffered.
